MAS Members Get A Login
New for 2023 we have modified our membership database and now every MAS member will get a login to the website. This will allow us to have private content only accessible by the membership. We expect this Member's page will be entirely private.

2022 Membership Sets Records
We finished 2022 with what we believe is the highest number of memberships in the club's history: 288. Of course, the actual number of members is much higher than that, but it is difficult to judge because as know not all family memberships end up having more than one active member. It is hard to phathom that just 10 years ago our membership total was just 50! We also set another record in that we had 101 new membership applications.

90 Years!
Did you know that MAS was formed on September 21, 1932? That means we celebrated our 90th birthday lAR year! That birth was during the Great Depression and the club gathered at the house of Luverne Armfield and observed from his tiny yard in West Allis. And against all odds our club would decide to build our observatory in 1936. Our club has a rich history which you can read about in our history section.

Internet At the Observatory
The MAS Board has decided that it is finally time that we get internet access at our observatory! This gives us a number of capabilities including the ability to broadcast our meetings so members can view it remotely, upload of imaging, and security cameras. We hope to have this running by September.

Ottawa Lake Permission
Our thanks to Jason Doyle who secured a letter of permission for members of our club to use the relatively dark area of Ottawa Lake State Recreation Area of the Southern Unit - Kettle Moraine State Forest after 11:00PM when otherwise you cannot. It is a good idea to print out the letter and have it with you. And keep in mind that you still need to purchase a day pass or an annual state park sticker.
