Running Man Nebula
What's New in the Showcase! We have recently resurrected the Showcase section of our website.  Images are still added to the various galleries, but for convenience we also post all new photos in the What's New section.  Above are just some of the pictures recently added.  We have a lot because we had to play catch up. So do you have an image taken in the last several years you'd like to see added? If so, see the Submit Images page.

 

Sculptor Galaxy
The Sculptor Galaxy, NGC 253, taken at the observatory with the Buckstaff Telescope (i.e., B-Scope) by Tamas Kriska.  He used his Canon 60D DSLR camera and took 32, 1 min exposures at ISO 1600 which were then stacked.  See this and other images by Tamas in our Showcase pages

 

Orion Nebula - M42/M43
This image of the Orion Nebula was taken by member Dennis Roscoe with his TOA-130F f/5.3 scope and STF-8300M camera using 5 nm filters. Total exposure: 6.5 hours (Red SII 2.5hr, Blue OIII 1.5hr, Green Ha 2.5hr).  See this and other images by Dennis in our  Showcase pages.

 

Horsehead / Flame Nebula
This image of the Horsehead & Flame Nebula was taken by member Dennis Roscoe with his TOA-130F f/5.3 scope and STF-8300M camera using 5 nm filters. Total exposure: 4.5 hours (Red SII 1.5hr, Blue OIII 1.5hr, Green Ha 1.5hr).  See this and other images by Dennis in our  Showcase pages.  

 

Bubble Nebula
This narrow band image of the Bubble Nebula was taken by our President Scott Jamieson with the 25 inch Zemlock Telescope as a test of the modifications he's made to the scope to give us this wonderful capability. Rosette Nebula
This amazing image of the Rosette Nebula is from MAS member Dennis Roscoe.  It was taken with a TOA-130F, f/5.3, with a STF-8300M camera, 5nm Narrow Band filters. See this in higher resolution along with other images by Dennis in our Showcase pages where we "show off" the imaging talents of our membership.
